Saturday, August 25, 2007 - Higgins!

Soon Higgins will be appearing in various scenarios/dioramas. But here's a hint as to who will be "co-starring" as Jonathan Quayle Higgins in "Magnum, G.I." movies!

Things are looking up! Obviously, TC and Rick have arrived to take up residence. They will soon be appearing in more of my adventures, but I wanted to give you a quick look at them before we head off on our various projects.

Oh, yes, one more addition -- I can now be seen in close-up pictures that show my manly chest hair.

Tuesday, August 14

I got to help with driving to work today. I know what you're thinking, and you're right: my vision is somewhat limited when I'm on the steering wheel, so I leave the driving to golf and I do the navigation.

golf has "ordered" (that's RMGI-ese for she's making) T.C.'s t-shirts with the Island Hoppers logo. So T.C. should be able to make an appearance soon. Rick is still in his 'Nam camo fatigues and has to wait a while till his white dinner jacket has been "ordered" and received too.

We're all still looking for Higgins. Zeus (or Apollo) is being shipped in shortly. And the Ferrari is temporarily in the shop.

Waiting for everything wouldn't be so bad in Paradise . . . . in record-breaking heat in Atlanta, it's not as pleasant.

golf also let me help on the drive home.

though sometimes it makes me feel more as though I'm at the wheel of a ship.

And then on the way home, we needed to stop for gas, so I assisted with the pumping of it.

Better clothes! Monday, August 13, 20007

golfmobile discovered this weekend that these hundred-degree days here are literally cooking her cherry tomatoes on the vine! They don't taste good that way.

But she also completely remade my outfit. My new shirt has its design properly centered, even to the sleeves and collar. And thank heaven she got rid of those baggy shorts.

In addition, Rick and T.C. arrived this weekend, but we've been so busy catching up, we haven't had time to take pictures. We'll try to get some posted later this week.

Thursday, August 9

I know what you're thinking and you're right: Things have been deadly dull lately! I haven't been anywhere noteworthy, and it's very boring hanging around golfmobile's office. I try entertaining myself, hiding from her; visiting with her bettas, George and Pike; or chatting with some of the "girls" at her office (the one in the red sweater reminds me of Cynthia Farrell [Dana Delaney], my attorney friend in L.A. -- or Dana Scully. Hmmm, interesting "Dana" coincidence . . . . )

At home, golf has been working on the intro video for "magnum, g.i.," but Higgins hasn't returned from his travels and T.C. is off in his helicopter on some charter or other, Rick is unavailable, so until we have more of the gang on site, we can't finish the video.

Think I'll just go rest in the hammock for a while. If things are going to be this quiet, I'd rather be experiencing such boredom in paradise -- Atlanta is miserable with 100-degree heat right now. I miss ocean breezes, the surf-ski, the Ferrari, the ocean, and almost miss "the lads." And I wouldn't object to a few rainy days -- if I were in paradise.

Quigley Down Under

I haven't been anywhere lately -- unless you count the haberdashery! Or perhaps it should be the general store?

golfmobile has obviously turned me into Quigley Down Under.

You will note, however, that my feet don't show in these pictures, because she hasn't found any cowboy boots for me yet.

Moving Furniture

golfmobile and Larry have been occupied, to the detriment of my entertainment, by moving furniture. Since they bought the new mattress, they had to have it delivered. I think I mentioned that the actual bed they wanted wasn't available? Or maybe not. Anyway, the new kingsize mattress and box springs were delivered, but they were just put downstairs until the queensize bed upstairs could be moved. As it turns out, when Larry went "on the hunt" after golf's failure to find the bed they wanted "in inventory," Larry actually DID find what they wanted for a new kingsize bed and bought it, and it is to be delivered Saturday. Therefore, they had to disassemble the current half-tester queensize bed (a MAJOR task, trust me -- that's the bed, with red taffeta bed hangings, shown in the picture above left) and then move the kingsize mattress and box springs upstairs.

A kingsize mattress is VERY difficult to move up two flights of stairs when there are only two people trying to do it and one of those people is 5' 3" and weighs only 119 lbs.! golf was unable to get pictures of my assisting with the transfer of the mattress from downstairs to upstairs due to the fact that her hands were a bit full, wrestling with the mattress. But the new mattress and box springs are currently in place in the master bedroom, awaiting the delivery of the bed itself. However, once the matress and box springs were in place, I plopped down on the bed to check its comfort -- and I deem it satisfactory.

So at home, we await the arrival of the new four poster bed -- pictures to be added Saturday when it is delivered!

In the meantime, golfmobile needed a new chair at her office -- hers broke. However, if anyone ELSE at the office had needed a new chair, one simply would have been ordered and delivered. golf had to go GET her own! Well, of course, she couldn't do it without MY assistance, so she took me to the office furniture place this afternoon, where I assisted her with loading her new chair into her car (the "golfmobile," of course).

Then when we arrived back at her office building, I again offered my services in assisting her with the unloading the chair from her SUV:

and moving it from the SUV to the freight elevator.

golf is now happy in her office with her new chair -- with a new bed and a new chair at the office, hopefully she will stop whining about backaches.

In the meantime, I need to find something to do while we are waiting for the new bed. I have been keeping myself occupied in acquiring some clothes and equipment -- all to be revealed at the proper time and place. But it may be a few days before I can get everything in order.
